West Palm Beach, FL – Team One Network conducted a 40-hour Sniper Instructor Course from 23-27 October 2017. This course brought together snipers from seven agencies and provided them with qualified sniper instructors. This course is intended for senior sniper personnel who train new snipers. Participants will receive classroom and live fire training during this deep-dive course. Upon completion, participants will be able to create, develop, and implement sniper training programs that meet all current law enforcement standards.

The selection of new team members
Participants will learn to effectively create policies and selection programs to ensure the most qualified members of the agency are given the opportunity to serve in the distinguished position of Sniper / Marksman.
Sniper support during operations
Snipers support law enforcement operations in many ways – often times providing agencies with capabilities they have never considered. From covert surveillance with lethal capability over-watch to overt demonstration of force capabilities snipers are a strategic, operational, and tactical resource for an agency that knows how to deploy them. This course prepares instructors to assist and train their agency snipers and leadership to use their teams most effectively.
Sniper-initiated operations
The sniper initiated operation is one of the most complex law enforcement capabilities available for tactical operations. The Sniper is often the subject matter expert in training the rest of the team as well as planning and coordinating real-world use of the tactic. This course prepares instructors to train their teams to use this tactic safely and effectively.
The responsibilities of sniper team leaders
Participants will have a clear understanding of what is expected of Sniper Team Leaders and more importantly will recieve mentorship from instructors with experience in this demanding position.
Liability issues for snipers and team leaders
Particpants will gain a greater understanding of the liability concerns for police marksman and will discuss methods of reducing and eliminating risks associatiated with that liability. Qualified sniper instructors in an agency are a great place to start.
Instructional and coaching techniques
Becoming a Sniper Instructor takes firearms trainers to the next level. Although many of the fundemantals of shooting apply to all weapon systems, the precision rifle is incredibly uniqe. A firearms instructor who attends this course will learn additional instruction and coaching methods that will improve thier team’s capabilities.
The sniper/observer relationship
A large part of operating a sniper team is effectively training the observer, who is preferably an equally qualified or aspiring sniper themselves. The observer has an incredibly important role in the deployment of a tactical team and this course prepares the instructor to train the observer to perform most effectively.
Orders
The orders process for a sniper team is a major part of the operation. Participants in this training will develop their skills to train others to effectively issue orders to sniper teams.
