Houston, TX – From May 7-11, 2018 several instructors attended and presented at the 2018 International Association of Law Enforcement Fire Arms Instructors conference in Houston, TX. Along with Team One Network’s President, John Meyer several other instructors were also present.
May 8 – Low Light Operations – John Meyer
John Meyer conducted a workshop sponsored by Streamlight LLC. designed for LEO Firearms Instructors to instruct their officers to gain skills and develop an ability to win a confrontation during low light situations. They explored the tactical advantages of multiple lighting systems and techniques. Instructors will explore techniques and drills to train department personnel with handheld and weapon mounted lights and optics and laser sights. Students must pass a written test, live fire standards drills and instructor evaluations to successfully complete the course.
May 8 – CZ Scorpion Armorer – Gary Monreal
Gary Monreal trained officers from several departments as armorers for the CZ-USA Scorpion Carbine. This is the first year we conducted this training at the conference but it will also be a rotating course at ILEETA and we look forward to presenting it again. Our Armorer courses are manufacturer sponsored and certify the participants in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Each certificate is valid for three-years.
May 9 – Dynamic Use of Target Systems – Niel Honkala
Niel Honkala trained members from of 10 different departments during a Dynamic Use of Target Systems workshop. In this 4-hour fast-paced program, we run participants through several drills to show them a variety of creative and effective ways to integrate versatile targets into their range programs. Action Target provides the majority of support for this event and brought out a wide variety of guns and optics from other sponsors to give participants an opportunity to try out a variety of options. In this workshop participants used steel reactive targets, the Auto-Target System, Paper, and the, “Running Man Target.” We also introduce them to several of our drills.
May 9 – Springfield XDs – Gary Monreal
Gary Monreal trained 21 officers from several departments as armorers for the Springfield Armory XDs Pistol. This is the second time we conducted this training at the conference and it will continue to be a rotating course at IALEFI. we look forward to presenting it again. Our Armorer courses are manufacturer sponsored and certify the participants in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Each certificate is valid for three-years.
May 10 – Benelli Nova – Dave Brancato
Dave Brancato trained 17 officers from multiple agencies as armorers for the Benelli Nova shotgun. This course is a rotating course at this conference and we look forward to presenting it again. Our Armorer courses are manufacturer sponsored and certify the participants in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Each certificate is valid for three-years.
May 10 – Introduction to Suppressors – John Meyer
John Meyer teamed up with BLACKHAWK! and did 4-hours on the range with wide-array of suppressed guns for officers from 6 different departments. The workshop allowed participants to try out suppressors while learning more about the advantages they provide to tactical operations and the reduced risk of hearing loss when using them in training. This workshop was made possible with Suppressors from BLACKHAWK!, guns from CZ-USA, Gorilla, Ruger, Savage Arms, and Springfield Armory with optics from Trijicon and Bushnell, ammunition from Gorilla, and of course, targets from Action Target.
