Edward S. Janke

Ed Janke is retired from public safety with over 40 years of experience in public safety; working in law enforcement, emergency management and the fire service. Ed has gained progressively more responsible experience in the field holding Chief positions both law enforcement and the fire service. His responsibilities have also included serving as the commander for a SWAT, Bomb Squad and Mobile Field Force. He has received numerous awards and citations for actions in law enforcement, the fire service and emergency management.

Ed currently works for Wisconsin Emergency Management as the NQS coordinator. He is responsible for certifying personnel who wish to credential in ICS.

Ed is the President of the Association of Wisconsin Incident Management Teams and is the coordinator for the WI All Hazards Incident Management Team. He also is a member of the WI DNR NE Incident Management Team and Coordinator for the East Central Incident Management Team.

Ed holds an M.S. in Organizational Behavior and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 199th Session as well as the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program. He is a Lean Six Sigma certified green belt. Additionally, he is a unified tactical law enforcement instructor, fire service instructor and incident command instructor including position specific ICS courses. He instructs throughout the United States.
