Steve Johnson
Steve is a 32-year veteran of the North Carolina Department of Justice where he served as the Senior Firearms Instructor for the North Carolina Justice Academy. He was responsible for the training and certification of all law enforcement firearm instructors; all concealed carry handgun instructors, and all armed security firearms instructors. He has attended most major firearms manufacturer armorer courses and coordinated training programs such as Sniper, Submachine Gun and teaches basic SWAT courses. Steve currently serves as the Director of Special Projects for the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association. He also is appointed to the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission (POST) and the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board. He is the Past President of both the North Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association and the North Carolina Law Enforcement Planners Association. Steve has served on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) since 1996 and served as the President of IALEFI from 2000 – 2016.
